Game development for Sørlandet Science Center

– Learning through engaging game experiences.

Sørlandet Science Center approached us during the planning of their new exhibit, “The Resourceful Ocean,” which opened to the public in June 2024. As part of a broad and interdisciplinary approach to the theme, we were tasked with creating two interactive gaming experiences tailored to different target groups: The youngest children – and those slightly older.

The result is two interactive games: The Crab Game and The ROV Pilot.

The Crab Game is a simple and intuitive touch-based game designed for younger children. Players must help the crab avoid eating trash while ensuring it consumes natural crab food. Eating too much garbage makes the crab sick, ending the game. With two difficulty levels, the game provides an engaging experience tied to an important and pressing issue: Ocean pollution and its impact on marine wildlife.

The ROV Pilot is an ambitious and competitive game experience. Played from a real pilot chair equipped with industry-standard joystick controllers, players navigate an ROV inside a salmon pen, completing a series of tasks. Points are awarded based on completed objectives and time efficiency. The game offers a highly realistic and replayable experience.

We love creating engaging and educational experiences that make science fun and accessible to younger audiences.

Thank you to Sørlandet Science Center for your trust and collaboration.
