Film production for Marti

Film production for Marti

Film production inside the mountain!

Together with our good friend and collaborator Christer Fasmer we have worked with film production for entrepeneur Marti for quite some time.

Marti is contracted to create the tunnell for light rail and pedestrians throught mount Løvstakken in Bergen.

Marti is a client that truly believes in visual communication and together we have done films on everything from work culture and what it means to feel safe at work to highly technical tales of modern tunnell excavation.

The mount Løvstakken tunell is part of the Bergen Light rail project stage 4, and will open for travellers in late 2022 / early 2023.

Virtually Safe - Safety training in VR

Safe & portable training in a virtual environment.

Vestdavit is a Bergen, Norway based producer of davit cranes with clients within commercial fleets and coast guards throghout the world.

Our Virtual Reality solution for Vestdavit is a simulator of their Davit crane TDB-5000.

In the simulator the user is trained in crane operation and the correct procedure for lowering and retrieving a lifeboat / rib.

The goal is that crane operators should be well accustomed to controlling the crane and how the crane operates under different weather scenarios prior to using the real crane at sea.

The solution uses a proprietary network protocol to communicate with a real crane controller to make the training as realistic as possible and to also train muscle memory.

In a portable package the solution offers training in complicated operations, safe ways to experience unwanted scenarios and an immersive and true to life way to experience crane handling.

Emerson - Interactive real-time visualization

Visualizing real-time data for a Fortune 500-company

For Emerson we have developed a realtime interactive visualization application for their multiphase flow metering technology.  A multiphase flow meter is a tool widely used in the oil and gas industry to monitor the content and flow inside oil and gas pipes.

Roxar, owned by Emerson, is widely regarded as producing the most reliable and technologically advanced multiphase meters available on the market. Using a wide range of different sensors, the meters outputs data that describes the mix between oil, gas and water, velocities, and distribution up to 10 times per second.

Since no one can actually see inside the pipes, the data must be interpreted by professionals to understand which flow regime is currently running in the pipes. To make this interpretation easier for their end-users, Emerson gave us the challenge to create an application that could give a realistic visualization of the measurements and data output.

The application we developed supports both live data as well as loading historical data or simply fiddling around with input parameters yourself (such as Gas Fraction and Water Liquid Ratio) and visualizing the result in real-time. The application exists as both an installation-free web-app, and a standalone desktop application.

The application is used by Emerson to support education, sales efforts and to add value to the multiphase meter offering to existing clients.

Educational experiences - the new Hardanger Aqua Center

Learn about fish farming in the picturesque Hardangerfjord

Hardanger Akvasenter is a new exhibit and experience located in Øystese, Norway which is open to the public. Connected to Norwegian salmon producer Lingalaks’ viewing concession for salmon in the picturesque Hardangerfjord, the center is around 100 square meters and consists of 9 individual stations containing films, animations, physical exhibits and interactive experiences.

The center aims to tell a sober and science-based tale of raising salmon in the Hardangerfjord, based on local history and geography and to not shy away from the difficulties and challenges that still face the industry. The entire exhibit is bilingual, with content presented in both Norwegian and English.

Mount Visual has developed the center and all related content together with designers from our friends in Haltenbanken and Tønder and the feedback has been very positive.

The children love the interactive salmon wall, and adults enjoy the interactive scale-model of the Hardangerfjord.

If you happen to be in the area, stop by and check it out!

A holistic experience: Big Blue

Big Blue is a joint venture between salmon farmer Lerøy Vest and Museum Vest in Bergen, Norway.

The background for the project is that Lerøy Vest was granted a viewing concession connected to aqua culture on salmon, trout and rainbow trout. As a viewing concession this one is unique, for the first time also including the production of algae and mussels through the project Ocean Forest.

Big Blue contains development of a fact- and knowledge-based exhibition on aqua culture with a bigger picture perspective, looking a biology, sustainability and technology. The exhibition is both physical and digital and is designed to a be a truly immersive experience for its audience. In Mount Visual, we had the pleasure of working on about 20 animations, or roughly 60 minutes of animated content for the exhibition together with our friends in design agency Haltenbanken.

Big Blue opened its doors, June 15th 2020.

Kappa Offshore Solutions - Animation

Sometimes smarter – is smaller.

We were delighted when we were approached by Kappa Offshore Solutions, a specialist company outside of Paris with services and solutions within seismic, hydrodynamics and field operations.

They had a clear-cut pitch on a new and exciting concept within marine seismic and wanted us to visualize their thoughts.

A fun project with just the right balance between providing technical information while also being concise and to-the-point.

«I am really impressed by the way Mount Visual captured the whole idea of Squadseis and made it understandable for our target audiences.»

The cover of Science Magazine!

Birkeland Centre for Space Science on the cover of Science Magazine with our illustration!

Science is one of the most recognized scientific journals in the natural sciences. There is intense competition among researchers from all over the world to have their scientific results published. Of more than 30.000 submitted papers each year, only around 2.700 are published in Science. Promotion on the cover page is even more prestigious; Each week the Chief Editor of Science chooses only one scientific result that he would like to promote on the cover page of the printed journal.

We are incredibly happy that our client, Birkeland Centre for Space Science are experiencing a high degree of interest for their research on gamma rays resulting from ligthning flashes and that our visualization of the phenomena can contribute to better science-based communication!

You can read more about the phenomena and the science behind it at Science Magazine.

Illustrations showing Bergen Light Rail phase 4

The future of public transportation in Bergen visualized.

For our client Bergen Light Rail development (Bybanen utbygging) we have made illustrations for each new light rail stop corresponding with the development of Phase 4 which goes from Kaigaten to Fyllingsdalen terminal.

The light rail is a topic of much debate in Bergen and our images have ended up in numerous articles in local press, like here in Bergens Tidende (norwegian article).

Apart from sparking unavoidable debate in the comments section of the local newspapers the illustrations are being used in burroughs and neighbourhoods that are affected by the building of Phase 4.

The basis for the illustrations are technical (BIM) 3D-models, photographs from viewpoints or drone as well as design- and material brief.
